The Malene is the Mette's closed-toe sister. Same fisherman-style leather straps across the top of the foot, same buckle at the ankle — but with the toes properly covered. The result is a sandal that reads as more of a shoe: substantial enough to wear with cropped trousers, protective enough for the school run or a day of walking.
The closed toe also extends the season. Where an open sandal calls for hot weather and bare legs, the Malene sits comfortably into autumn as long as the days are mild.
